2019 is an important year in the life of Second Church of Christ. Not only are we celebrating 120 years of God’s blessings and faithfulness to this church, we are also looking forward to what God has in store for us in the future. We, the Elders, are asking that you join us in a season of prayer as we pray for three important goals:

1. Kids World & Student Ministry Buildings

• Construction of buildings and safety for the workers

• Financial commitments (REACH Initiative) will continue to be met

• Children and teens who will be impacted through these new facilities

• Ministry Leaders: Kenna Osborne, Jake Weece, and Tyler Russell • Volunteers of Kids World, JHM, and HSM  

2. Special Needs Ministry

• The launch of this new ministry

• Special needs people to know Jesus

• The search for a leader for this ministry

• Recruitment of volunteers

• The creation of the Special Needs Ministry space  

3. Succession Process

• Drew and Judy Mentzer’s retirement and transition to Tennessee

• The search for our next Senior Minister

• The interview of potential candidates

• God’s timing and our patience

• Wisdom for the elders and leadership team

We believe these three goals are important, not just for 2019, but they are crucial for preparing Second Church to thrive for another 120 years. Therefore, please join us in the 120 Prayer Focus where we commit to pray for Second Church for 120 seconds (two minutes) every day this year. Our hope is that God will guide and direct us as we implement these three gigantic goals in 2019.
